BCTA Attends 2025 Spring Canton Fair and Hong Kong InnoEX, New Opportunities in Trade and Innovation

In April 2025, the Bahamas-China Trade Association (BCTA) actively participated in both the 137th China Import and Export Fair (Spring Canton Fair) in Guangzhou and the 2025 Hong Kong International Innovation Expo (InnoEX), showcasing a dual-track strategy to connect Bahamian businesses with both traditional manufacturing and emerging technologies in China.

At the Canton Fair, BCTA led a delegation of Bahamian business leaders focused on sectors such as green building materials, consumer electronics, smart furniture, and renewable energy. The group engaged in product sourcing, supply chain consultations, and matchmaking sessions with Chinese exporters to lay the foundation for long-term commercial relationships.

Immediately following, the delegation visited Hong Kong for InnoEX, hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, where BCTA explored cooperation opportunities in AI, sustainability tech, fintech, and smart city solutions. The association held meetings with innovation parks, incubators, and R&D institutions across the Greater Bay Area, initiating multiple cooperation intents.

“Canton Fair reflects China’s manufacturing strength, while InnoEX shows the pace of Chinese innovation,” said a BCTA spokesperson. “Together, they offer a comprehensive view of partnership opportunities for The Bahamas across trade, technology, and investment.”

Through this dual participation, BCTA reinforced its role as a bridge, platform, and integrator—committed to helping Caribbean enterprises navigate the Chinese market and access its industrial, technological, and financial ecosystems. The Association will continue to foster high-quality, sustainable, and future-facing cooperation between China and The Bahamas.
